[laughter] [applause] the institute is our sister organization, a nonprofit educational entity founded 25 years ago by william f buckley, jr. [applause] its mission to advance the conservative principles bill champion, complement the mission of the magazine and support national reviews best talent and preserve and promote the buckley legacy. indeed, the institute that is formally launched a buckley legacy project and there was literature here explaining its plans and vision, in this last year the institute through this project haskell braited the anniversaries of two important and lasting aspects of the buckley legacy. the marvel
certainly have a big competitive advantage today. after words airs every saturday at 10 p.m. and sunday at 9 p.m. eastern. you can watch all previous afterwards or practice on our web site, booktv.org. when we confronted the pakistanis, we were with enraged at them. and, of course, their answer the whole point was they were going to look the other way, we were going to go take em out. we had to take the body out, and we were not going to talk about it. not for a week or ten days. it was all agreed, the president then would announce we had a drone raid, we do it all the time in the hindu kush mountains on the pakistani not on the on the afghan side, making clear it was on the afghan side, and we hid a house, and we did an after-action look and found the long, tall guy there. bin laden was 6-4, and we did dna and, my god, we got him. and that would have been just as good. but that night, and i remember this vividly, because it was a sunday night here in washington.
that i think is a general mindset. that s what i at the end of the day say if we re going to solve some these problems, and i agree that there are a lot of guys who want to be working but are not, we ought to guarantee them jobs. during the recession, during the recovery act we had a program, a subsidized job program. we subsidize wages to the tune of 80-90%, at tanf program. we subsidize wages in private or public sector jobs to the tune of 80-90%, employed about two under 60,000 people, time-limited. i thought it was a pretty successful program. we ve come to the end of time. i will just close by saying that in a year which has been characterized by incredible polarization when people who disagree with each other, it has been assumed must hate each other, i think jared and i have done a terrific job.
