Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested four members of a kidnap syndicate for abducting a 13-year-old girl in the Onipanu area of the Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Oyeyemi said the suspects, John Nelson, 21; Adeleke Ayotunde, 29; Adekunle Basit, 20; and Abbey Fagbemi, 20, were arrested following a complaint lodged at the Onipanu Divisional Police Headquarters by the father of the victim, Adejuwon Odunowo, who complained that his daughter was sent on an errand by her mother around 6.30pm last Thursday, but she did not return home. ....

Two men, who were suspected to be armed robbers have been shot dead on Sunday by the police at the Sagamu interchange axis of the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State.
The DPO of Sagamu division, CSP Okiki Agunbiade had received a distress call at about 9 pm, that a robbery operation was going on at the area and that one of their victims had been bady injured.
Upon the distress call, the DPO was said to have quickly led a patrol team to the scene where they met the robbers attacking one Agba Enoch.
DAILY POST gathered that a gun battle ensued between the police and the armed robbers, leading to the death of two members of the gang, others, however, escaped with gunshot injuries. ....

The suspects are Edesiri Epete, Roland Francis, Kelvin Eyeno, Adebayo Oloye, Edwin Ochuko and Jonson Godwin.
A statement by EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed five were arrested between May 5 and 7, 2021 at a hideout in Shimex Estate, Pyakasa.
One other was arrested at Queens Estate, Gwarimpa. They were nabbed after intelligence on their alleged involvement in cybercrime.
EFCC said their lifestyle, which was not supported by any legitimate means of livelihood, gave them away.
Uwujaren disclosed that preliminary investigation indicated the suspects were involved in romance scam on social media.
They allegedly used fake identities of Caucasian men or women to defraud unsuspecting victims. ....

Men of Ogun State Police Command, on Friday, rescued 22 teenage girls between 10 and 14 years that were reportedly lured from Akwa Ibom State to Ogun state for prostitution.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Saturday in a statement.
Oyeyemi said the command got credible information that minors were being recruited as sex workers.
He said the police in an operation, coordinated by the Area Commander Ota, ACP Muhideen Obe, stormed a hotel about 8 pm on Friday and rescued 22 teenagers.
The PPRO said the victims lamented that they were lured from their respective villages in Akwa Ibom State to come to Ogun State, with the promise to employ them as sales girls in restaurants and supermarkets. ....
