I think of students in college a few of you were in college a few years ago as the best thing to do is to take the teacher not the course and here i think of things to take these incredible authors and be in a room with them. Whatever theyre talking about. The only problem is there is someone in every room. That you want to be with. I think you heard from them all at one point or another. They have also done some the other interesting things. American shots. He is the cn and historian. He has a little bit of basement studio and envy of john meacham. Whos got that at msnbc. Of course the great tester in 1919. Just a transformative book that is so important. Many of us know him from his basement with morning joe. The assignment is to talk about who is your favorite historical figure. I want to make that a free and fun thing. Maybe later we would get into other elements. W

I think that they raise issues that we have today. In the tension between idealism and pragmatism. The important thing is that traditionally weak cover these guys independently. We assume that because the it or was republican and franklin was a democrat that you can segment them and they contribute to different silos of American History when in fact they intertwined and integrated families, with the last name roosevelt is of much more interest. Exponentially more interesting when you see how related they arent that there is no franklin or eleanor without theodore. I would take the people that i wanted to write about. Probably 12 major characters in this book, probably 20 some people overall who are americans but thats a fraction of the number that went to paris during the 70 year. Not that i am covering. So when organizing the book, organizing my approach to the subject i was in many ways like a casting director. They would come in, show me what they could do, tell me their story and i would say dont call me, i will call you. In effect. So, i am picking the people that i want to keep company with for four years and i didnt pick any one but i wasnt interested in or that i would be an interested and so there were none of them that i wanted to talk to.
