Suspect in Prof Benneh s murder freed

He was discharged by the Kaneshie District Court. The suspect, Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah, also known as Enoch and Kwayisi was discharged after the prosecution, led by Inspector Ebenezer Teye-Okuffo, told the court that the advice from the Attorney General s (AG s) Office recommended that Nkansah was innocent and should be discharged. The court presided over by Ms Ama Adomako Kwakye after hearing the prosecution ruled and set the suspect free. The Attorney General s advice is ready and per the advice dated on March 2, this year, Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah should not be charged. However, Ebenezer Quaisie, aka, Junior, a 25-year-old mason, should be charged with abetment of crime to wit murder, in view of this, we pray the court to uphold this.

Duplicate docket of Professor Benneh murder sent to A-G

+ A duplicate docket on Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh a law lecturer who was murdered at Agyriganor has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department for advice. Inspector Ebenezer Teye-Okuffo, who is leading the Prosecution, said the Police was therefore waiting for directives from the AG’s office. Two suspects namely Ebenezer Quaisie and Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah are being held for their involvement in the murder of the law lecturer. At the Kaneshie District Court, Mr Larbi Amoah, counsel for Opambour lamented over the kind of treatment being meted out to his client who had undergone surgery. Mr Amoah said after Opambour’s surgery he was to go for wound dressing every three days but this was not being done.

Prof Benneh s murder case: Court order police to correct defects in charge sheet LISTEN JAN 15, 2021 The Kaneshie District Court on Friday ordered the police to put their house in order following detection of defects in the charge sheet of the murder case of Prof. Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, the law lecturer, who was killed in cold blood at Agyiriganor. The caution of the court came after the police presented a new charge sheet, which had the name of James Nana Womba, now deceased, and the prime suspect as the first accused person. On the same new charge sheet, the names of Ebenezer Quaisie and Opambour Agya Badu Nkansah were identified as the second and third accused persons in the matter.
