We continue to appeal to our incoming Negrenses to undergo swab test for their own personal safety and their respective families. Let us embrace this practice, Diaz said. He pointed out that in the past few months, it has been proven that voluntary swabbing for incoming Negrenses resulted in the reduction of Covid-19 cases. Diaz made the appeal as there are some arriving Negrenses who are complaining that they are reportedly compelled to undergo swab test and quarantine despite that they have secured a negative RT-PCR test result from the places where they came. ....
May 09, 2021 LOCAL government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental with triple-digit cases of coronavirus should implement granular lockdowns, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Sunday, May 9, 2021. This came after the Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT) reported that there is heavy congestion of Covid-19 patients and returning residents at some LGUs. Dr. Gerhart Zeaphard Caelian, head of PIMT, reported that the EB Magalona Healing Center was being occupied by 179 Covid-19 patients, way beyond its capacity of 107. On the other hand, the Silay City Healing Center, which can accommodate 206 returning residents, who underwent swab tests upon arrival at seaports and the airport, was fully occupied after 150 returning residents from Manila were brought there in addition to the 106 who were already occupying the facility, Caelian said. ....
