The bus to the mountains starts running tomorrow: On Saturday King County Metro s Trailhead Direct service will take you out to Mt. Si from Capitol Hill (bus stop at Broadway and East Denny Way) or to Poo Poo Point from the Mt. Baker light rail station. Full routes here. King County Executive Dow Constantine, who is running for reelection, will greet riders at the Capitol Hill stop that morning.
Light rail frequency set to increase next Saturday, June 12: The pandemic slowed the train times to once every 12 minutes during peak hours and once every 15 minutes (and sometimes even longer!!!!) during off hours. Fourteen people were arrested during demonstrations in Seattle on May Day.
The first arrests of two people were made when police said a coffee shop near Broadway and East Denny Way was spray-painted and damaged.
Not long after, police issued a public safety order to a group that was placing hazards in the road, officials tweeted.
A person was arrested at Seventh Avenue and Olive Way where a carton of eggs, some filled with paint, was also recovered after an egg hit a bystander.
At one point, the marchers blocked all lanes of South Jackson Street at Eighth Avenue, the Seattle Department of Transportation reported. ....

Fourteen people were arrested during demonstrations in Seattle on May Day.

A couple that was attacked while they were walking last week in Chinatown-International District said Wednesday that they believe they were intentionally targeted by a man who left both of them with serious injuries during an attack they said was unprovoked. 
I truly believe he was trying to kill us, said Michael Poffenbarger, who is white and was walking with his Japanese-American girlfriend, Noriko, when the attack occurred.  He hit her so hard (and) he hit me really really hard. I was amazed at how hard he hit my head and it didn’t knock me out, said Poffenbarger. I thought for sure, I had a skull fracture. ....
