Blue Hill thefts under investigation ELLSWORTH Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating two thefts at Blue Hill residences. One occurred on April 27 and the other on May 6. Multiple items were taken from an apartment in the May 6 theft, Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo reported. More thefts Overdose A Stonington man called for help for his friend, 37, of Ellsworth, who had overdosed and needed an ambulance May 1. “I responded and assisted until an ambulance crew arrived and took him to the hospital,” said Sgt. Dan Harlan. Arrests A man who allegedly took a pickup truck from his Stonington mother without permission on May 1 was located by the Veazie Police Department and arrested on Saturday, Harlan reported. ....
Sexual assault report under investigation ELLSWORTH Hancock County Sheriff’s Detective Stephen McFarland reported that a woman on Friday provided information about a sexual assault. The report is being investigated. Social media issues A Stonington man advised the Hancock County Regional Communications Center that someone had hacked his Facebook account. “I spoke with the caller and offered some suggestions on how to fix the issue,” said Deputy Jeff McFarland. Deputy Marcus Downes spoke with a Lamoine business owner Saturday about online harassment from prior customers. Theft Family fight Deputy Jeff McFarland went to a Deer Isle residence Saturday for a report of a family fight. “I met with the subjects involved and determined that no crime was committed,” the deputy said. Hancock County Sheriff Pickup truck gets struck on trail ELLSWORTH The Hancock County Regional Communications Center got a call for help from a woman in Sullivan reporting that she and her boyfriend had gotten their pickup truck stuck on the Donnell Pond Trail just after 11 p.m. on March 28. “They were over 3 miles in on the trail and there was no way for a wrecker to get to them,” said Deputy Jeff McFarland. “The Hancock RCC referred them to the Warden Service for assistance, as we were not able to get to them with a cruiser.” Arrests Deputy Dylan Hall arrested a Northeast Harbor woman after a traffic stop on the Bucksport Road in Ellsworth Saturday. Stacy Smith, 52, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. ....
