Marshall Police Chief Josh Lankerd says 38-year-old Dustin Boggess was one of eight people who were in the house on Clinton St. when a natural gas explosion and fire destroyed the home. Boggess passed away on Friday and was one of two people taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for special treatment. Investigators said the house was in the process of being renovated when the explosion happened in the early morning hours on Monday, April 12. They still aren’t sure what triggered the gas leak. ....

Marshall Fire Chief Martin Erskine said Monday that a woman, 27, is a patient at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor and a girl, 2, is a patient at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Officials said Friday that Dustin Boggess, 38, had died that morning at U of M hospital from injuries he sustained in the explosion and fire at a home at 532 Clinton St. Eight people were in the house. Five were treated and have been released from hospitals. Fire investigators have said the house was being renovated and the explosion was caused by a natural gas leak. ....
