Alexandria section of Fairfax County where police are searching for a hit and run driver who mowed down an elderly man last night it happened in this area of franconia road near brooklyn avenue. Not far from edison high school. It happened just before 11 00 p. M. We are about two lights down from the big intersection of franconia and south van dorn. The 69yearold was crossing and stopped in the unprotected median to wait for passing traffic. Thats when he was hit. The driver left the scene. The injured man died.
