It involved two planes, one landing and the other taking off on intersecting runways. A united jet was landing on the east west runway. By the time the jet started down the run way, the other jet was a mile away. The united jet was told to abort its landing. They came within 200 feet laterally and 400 feet vertically. 155 passengers and six crew members on the united flight. The expressjet flight carried 47 passengers and three crew. This could have been a catastrophic and horrific event. It was the air Traffic Controller who finally recognized that these two aircraft were converging upon each other.
