The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) released the January jobs report, and it shows the state gained 3,000 jobs from December to January.

DULUTH, Minn. Duluth’s municipal primary is just a few weeks away and city leaders are pushing for a larger turnout.
The city council at large, city council second district and city council fourth district seats are up for grabs come November.
With early voting now open at city hall, officials say in a comparable election back in 2017, they saw thirteen percent voter turnout.
Although historically municipal primaries have the lowest turnout, there is hope that people will still get to the polls in the next few weeks.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the City of Duluth are now acting on their plan to remove debris placed on Park Point Beach during 2020 beach nourishment. As a result, the section between 7th Street and 10th Street is now closed.

A drive/walk through job fair in the Amsoil Arena parking lot on Tuesday afternoon kicked off Hospitality Hiring Week.
Over 40 employers were on hand, and well over 100 job opportunities were available for area hotels and restaurants.
Attendees were able to get information about the jobs without leaving their cars.

Right now, we re in this crazy situation where there s more jobs available than people looking for work, so it s actually a really good time to be a job seeker because there s lots of opportunities there. Employers are offering hiring bonuses, they ve increased wages, all kinds of things to try to attract applicants, so it s a really good time to be looking for work, said Foshay.
