New Delhi: The housing sector is poised for a rebound in 2021 thanks to a fall in property prices and lower interest rates said Housing Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra in an interview to ET Now. The correction in residential properties in top eight cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai coupled with interest rates at multi-year lows have improved housing affordability in 2020.
“The economy was at a standstill due to COVID-19 but now the realty sector is bouncing back slowly. The housing sector is surely poised for a rebound in 2021. The level of sales in mega cities is back to pre COVID levels. The interest rates are at a multi-year low significantly aiding homebuyers,” Mishra added.
