Arkansas offers one of the greatest fishing spots for children in the country at Dry Run Creek. This gorgeous little stream, located next to the Norfork National Fish Hatchery a few miles east of Mountain Home, is full of giant trout. It fishes for less than a mile from the hatchery outflow to its confluence with the Norfork River just below the dam. Only youths under 16 and mobility impaired anglers may fish Dry Run Creek.
“I was with rescue crews all night, pulling people out of mobile homes. It was just terrible," said Don Barnett, who was the mayor of Rapid City during the historic 1972 flood that claimed 238 lives.
“They have no use for the city, so it makes sense to put affordable houses on them and get them on the tax rolls,” Mayor Bob Everson said of the lots that sit along the cul-de-sac of 500 South Langdon Street.
