“My goal is to educate as many renters as possible because a lot of them don’t think they qualify. A lot of people think renting is cheaper. When has rent ever gone down?" said Mitchell's Cory Marek.
The council's decision to approve the $35,000 offer on the lot that sits on the corner of 15th Avenue and Minnesota Street comes after the city listed it on the market roughly three months ago at price tag of $57,000
Among the most notable changes to the ordinance are allowing the use of remote collars unless the animal is at a public gathering with 10 or more people and how the city deems an animal being under “complete control”
"If nobody does end up getting closer to our number, that seems like a viable option to work with Mitchell Area Housing Incorporated and get a single-family residential home built in that spot,” Mitchell City Council member Jeff Smith said of the future options of the lot
