Served one day as a judge and yet here she is being nominated to the highest court in the land. well, she has formidible credentials. the fact she has not served as a judge certainly is not disqualifying. what it does mean, though, is there has to be great attention in terms of scrutinizing her views as a glimpse of other pieces of data and that means, because she has not published much, in academia, it would be even more important to look at her work products when she was in the white house/clinton administration. douglas, let me ask you since you served as a clerk on the ninth circuit, u.s. court of appeals, how important is it to have that kind of judicial experience? well, remember, elena did, too, and also spent a year clerking on the supreme court at the united states. i think what matters with these candidates is really the breadth of experience they have. this is someone who has been inside the oval office, someone ....
