BELTON, TX â Former Belton Police Chief Roy Kneese has died at the age of 90 in his home in Belton. He passed away on Dec. 13.
Kneese served as police chief in Belton from 1974 to 1995. Our condolences on the loss of Retired Belton Police Chief Roy Kneese. He lived an incredible life of service, serving our nation in the Army, then our community for nearly 3 decades. Retired Chief Kneese will be missed! the Belton Police Department said.
Kneese served in the Army before joining the Belton Police Department. He joined the Army in 1947 when he was 17 and was stationed at Fort Hood.
Former Belton Police Chief Passes Away
Condolences to the family of former Belton Police Chief Roy Richard Kneese, who passed away at his home on Sunday, December 13. Kneese was 90 years old.
Our news partners at KWTX report that funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel at 2525 North Main Street in Belton, with burial service with honors to follow at North Belton Cemetery.
According to his obituary, Kneese was born May 2, 1930 and was the youngest of 4 children. In 1947, Roy enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, which is where he would meet his future wife, Iris. He served his country in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
