The fees would also include a percentage set aside for maintenance of the art. Some council members were concerned the funds would not cover the life of the artwork and the city would have to pick up the tab. “I don’t think it’s enough money,” Councilwoman Alma Hernandez said. Suisun council approves Adopt-a-Street program; sets stage for Adopt-a-Neighborhood campaign in 2021 SUISUN CITY Adoptions are on the horizon. An estimated $12,000 was approved Tuesday on a unanimous City Council vote to launch an Adopt-a-Street program proposed by University of California, Davis students who live in Suisun City. Amany Saeed and Gisell Mendez, who are finishing college, told the council via the Zoom teleconference platform that they were looking for volunteer opportunities and came across the Adopt-a-Street program in Fairfield. They weren’t able to be part of it because they are Suisun City residents, they said. They are “100% committed,” they said, and will oversee the program in the beginning. ....
