the trump/desantis battle evolved into a schoolyard brawl. you don t change your name in the middle of the election. his whole family moved to florida under my governorship. are you kidding me? what is the desantis plan to convince voters he s not just a better nominee but a better president. plus the gop field keeps growing. three more candidates will jump in this week including trump s former vp. republicans have to offer a positive vision grounded in conservative principles. but how many of them will make it to the republican debate stage? and disaster averted. no one got everything wanted but the american people got what they needed. the president said it is proof his brand of politics still works. i know bipartisanship is hard but we could never stop trying. welcome to inside politics sunday , i m abby phillip. thank you for joining. it is all about iowa, iowa. and yesterday marks the first start of the caucus season with eight presidential hop ....
80-something-year-old president. and the both sides of the coin were on sharp display. a president getting a deal done but having that moment caught on tape. why a pivotal piece of evidence in this classified documents case against him. okay everyone, our mission is complete balanced nutrition. together we provide nutrients to support immune, muscle, bone, and hearhealth. everyone: woo hoo! ensure with 25 vitamins and minerals. ....
Players. we ve seen them engage to get around different kind of priv healths and we re in the phase but when there will there be a decision on charges one thing that we were taught this week, we don t know because there are people like general milley that we didn t know about and they have this kind of evidence. that is a reminder to all of us that there is a lot we don t know. this week i spoke to jim trusty and here is what he said about all of this that paula has been reporting. the president has unfettered authority to do what he wants with documents that he s taken from the white house while president and so if he wants to de classify them and personalize them, that is his right. well, were any documents that former president trump took with him to any of his properties, did they contain sensitive military plans? i m not trying my case in the president. so he would have the right to possess them if they did but i m not going to address that. ....
Former president barack obama as well for having classified documents. and they re a clear difference between the mike pence and the donald trump case is that they closed the mike pence one. although pence trump said this week, well, they should close mine too because i m i don t know if it s just as nen as mike pence. but he s going to try to make the argument that because pence wasn t charged he shouldn t be charged either. and by the way, margaret, this is not the only case he could be facing this summer. that is a good point. that is also true. but look, the former president is in a completely different level of legal jeopardy than political jeopardy. the base of the republican party is not developing how they view his conduct with records on the basis of legal briefs or what the constitution said or, you know, what the legal analysis of his responsibilities are. they re basing it on news ....
Would he have the right to possess them if they were classified documents? yes. because it is such an interesting argument, but it just strikes me. what we re talking about here is potentially, you know, not only classified documents that relate to national security, but is that really the argument that they re going to take to voters, about whether or not that is right or wrong for him to do. if the republican primary voters only care about donald trump and do whatever he wants in office, that is an effective case. i m not a lawyer, but i ve read a lot of legal analysis, there are a lot of lawyers that disagree with the attorney and that he could de classify whenever he wans. this is national security information and what the white house we ll hear is more than donald trump s vanity, his ability to show off top secret documents to friends when they come to visit, national security matters more than that. we re talking about the security of this country and information ....
