A project to install new energy-saving windows at the Luzerne County Courthouse that started last fall will resume in the spring and finish before summer, county officials said last week.
The project, which involves replacing hundreds of windows in the 112-year-old courthouse on North River Street in Wilkes-Barre, began in October after it was delayed several months by the coronavirus pandemic.
The onset of winter forced a break in the window installation, since the project includes detailed work which cannot be done in cold weather.
The contractor, D&M Construction Unlimited Inc., is completing the interior trim for the installed windows this winter, county engineer Lawrence Plesh said.
