In a statement, Dixons Carphone said it expects some 486 employees to be made redundant as a result of the decision. It’s a decision, the company said, informed by changing consumer trends and decreased footfall over the past year as a result of the pandemic. ....
In a statement on Wednesday, the company said the closures are part of a broader transformation and were a difficult but necessary decision . In 2020, the group also announced the decision to close all standalone Carphone Warehouse stores in the United Kingdom. Dixon Carphone said that while it had anticipated a change in shopping behaviour, it had been accelerated by the impact of the pandemic.
