supporters of this so-called doomsday budget passed in the regular session. they re protesting the special session and a plan to raise taxes. the budget was passed. we will have another budget going to raise the taxes. it is a balanced budget that was passed. inside the state house, the senate gave approval to a new plan that switches the costs of teacher pensions to local jurisdictions and raises sales tax. it also has an income tax increase. this affects individuals making 100,000 or more a year. it is a better alternative according to those who say the budget would be devastating to state services and education. this would remain tighter classrooms. we cannot afford that. this means an increase in class sizes. the union representatives held their own rallies and marches their own parties to lawmakers offices. republican lawmakers have come out against higher taxes. stay on top of what is going on with your tax dollars and how the budget affects you. just ....
