A fire broke out in an illegal oil depot near Jhumra Road in the district on Thursday. Four teams of Rescue 1122 officials arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire.
According to the police report, a fire broke out in an illegal depot which is set up at Jhula Lal Oil Parking Stand near Chak No 202 RB Gayi on Jhumra Road, area of Millat Town Police Station. However, no casualties were reported and the cause of the fire has not been ascertained. The flames engulfed the oil drums in the warehouse.

A chemical department employee of a sugar mill in Tandlianwala was killed after falling into a hot water pool during work on Friday.
Authorities handed over the body to his heirs after initial proceedings. Reportedly, 45-year-old Munir Ahmed, son of Abdullah, and a resident of Chak No 447GB, Sammundri, was an employee in the chemical department of a local sugar mill in Tandlianwala tehsil. During work, he fell into a hot water pool and died due to burn injuries. The mill management handed over the body of the deceased to the heirs. Causalities due to accidents owing to poor working environment and lack of safety measures have been reported frequently in the province.
