Carpinteria High received an 11th hour call that it was cleared to travel across the Ventura County line to participate in a Citrus Coast League cross country competition in Fillmore on Saturday.
Athletic Director Pat Cooney was notified by the Ventura County Public Health Department Saturday morning, and the Warriors scrambled to get to meet No. 2 at Fillmore Farm.
The Warriors and Malibu couldn’t run at last week’s first meet in Ojai because the Ventura County Health Officer had not allowed out-of-county teams to cross the border for athletic competitions. The other league members, Fillmore, Santa Paula, Nordhoff and Hueneme, reside in Ventura County.
