DeKalb firefighters rescue woman in critical condition after blaze
DeKalb Firefighters revived a woman who remains in critical condition on Saturday morning after they pulled her from a house fire.
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Fire investigators in DeKalb County are working to determine the cause of an early-morning blaze on Saturday.
Firefighters pulled a woman from her bedroom window and revived her before transporting her to a hospital in critical condition.
FOX 5 Atlanta s Emilie Ikeda learned the woman s nephew, Tyrone Davis, woke to the smell of smoke and called 911. Davis told firefighters his aunt was trapped inside of the home on Zane Grey Drive.
Georgia Man Catches 6 People Jumping Out of Burning 3-Story Apartment Building
A Georgia man is being hailed as a hero after breaking the fall of at least six people who were jumping from the top floor of a burning apartment complex, catching them with his bare arms. Among those he rescued were a newborn baby and a pregnant woman.
William Cox had just dropped off his son when he noticed smoke billowing out of Fairington Village Apartments in Stonecrest. He realized the building was on fire but didn’t see anyone fleeing the scene.
“I walked down and I don’t see anyone running out of the building,” he told KHOU11 on Dec. 12. “So, I’m screaming, ‘Please, the building is on fire. If you’re in there, get out.’”
