Because of that, i feel like no introduction is needed. That old canard, but in pauls case, its really true. Ill just say that he comes to us from the university of saskatchewan to give you a sense of how far hes come to be with us today. Hes there on a professor, visiting professorship on human rights. And hell be speaking on a nation of immigrants, the keynote, of course, is an opportunity to look at the theme in a broader sense. Ill defer to the people who know Immigration Law better than i. Theres a section of presumptive naturalization but its the courts decimated that particular section of law. But youre correct. Of course. Just saying. Yeah, yeah. Well, actually though, not entirely because inheritance rights would affect there are places where you could not inherit land if youre not a citizen. And so a widow might not be able to inherit, if somebody writes a will and writes you in, you have to inherit the land. There are substantive issues for women as well. A lot of citizenship issues they couldnt naturalize. There was one question over here. I dont really have a question. Its more of a little amusing anecdote. Several years back i met a fellow named dick theis and he explained his ancestor from elis island with a name tag that said vus. Thats how he got his new name in the new country.
