Muscat: The second Gulf Conference organised by Dhofar University will be held tomorrow
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency, (ONA), said: “Tomorrow, the second Gulf Conference organised by Dhofar University will commence under the title Coronavirus Pandemic and Sustainable Development in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries, via video communication”
“The conference will discuss the most important health, economic, educational, social and legal challenges facing the countries of the GCC in light of the Corona pandemic and its impact on sustainable development, it will be held for a duration of two days,” added the statement. ....

Oman’s secret pride, the indigenous frankincense will soon be seen adorning the shelves of European food and personal care sections of shopping malls, not in its raw form but in a variety of end user products.
After bagging the approval of the Swiss Drug Authority (SDA), the food variant made of this traditional gum has drawn attention from German, Swiss, Austrian, American, Indian and other companies which will give a shot in the arm for Omani frankincence.
Named ‘FrankOman’, this is the first product of frankincence to have gained such a title and is developed by Dhofar University and manufactured by the Swiss company AlbinaMed AG. ....

Muscat: Frank Oman is the first Omani food supplement developed by the Dhofar University Research Center and manufactured by the Swiss company Alpinamed AG.
According to the Al Shabiba report, Frank Oman is the first Omani food supplement developed by the Dhofar University Research Center. It s produced using Omani frankincense gum and manufactured by the Swiss company Alpinamed AG in the form of tablets to be taken via the mouth. The product is certified by the Swiss Medicines Authority and manufactured according to its requirements and Good Manufacturing Practice GMP standards.
This achievement, which was reached after more than a year of cooperation between Dhofar University and the AlpinaMed AG-Switzerland, which included conducting joint studies that included chemical analyzes of the active substances in Omani frankincense gum with advanced and sophisticated equipment in each of the company’s laboratories and Dhofar University independentl ....
