Sheriff: Registered sex offender in Chico arrested for possession of child porn
Deputies with the Butte County Sheriff s Office said they arrested a registered sex offender for possession of child pornography.

CHICO, Calif. – Deputies with the Butte County Sheriff s Office said they arrested a registered sex offender for possession of child pornography.
On May 6, detectives contacted 39-year-old Clinton Kennedy in Chico and arrested him for violating the terms and conditions of his parole.
Earlier this year, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) detectives began investigating Kennedy, who is a registered sex offender and on active state parole. Deputies also said they located evidence that he was downloading child pornography.

CHICO, Calif. - The Butte County Sheriff s office Monday released information about the arrest of CSU, Chico History Professor Laird McLeod Easton for possession of child pornography.
Investigators say they uncovered evidence that showed Easton was downloading child pornography and on January 20th obtained a warrant for his arrest.
A search warrant was served at Easton s home on Citrus Avenue in Chico on January 21st. Detectives and University Police Department Officers also served a search warrant at Easton s Office on campus.

CHICO, Calif. – A 29-year-old Chico man was arrested after the Butte County Sheriff s Office (BCSO) said they found evidence indicating he was downloading child pornography.
BCSO said they started investigating Curtis Scholar, of Chico, earlier in 2020. On Dec. 16, detectives said they served a search warrant at Scholar s residence, located in the 1600 block of Filbert Avenue in Chico.
During the search warrant, detectives said they seized multiple electronic devices that belonged to Scholar. They later conducted forensic searches of the electronic devices and located multiple images of child pornography. Evidence also indicated Scholar was the one who downloaded the child pornography.
