welcome back to the cnn newsroom. i m jim acosta in washington. we begin with joe biden heading off to poland tomorrow. he will deliver a message of solidarity just a few days ahead of the one-year anniversary of russia s full-blown invasion of ukraine. he will reaffirm support for that country. this comes on the heels of the munich security conference where the u.s. staked out some hard-nosed positions, accusing russia of war crimes and warning china not to give russia lethal aid. we saw the vice president, secretary of state tony blinken all delivering these messages to russia and china. tell us more. reporter: and white house officials have said it s a crucial time as we hit that one-year mark of russia invading ukraine. and joe biden will mark that with his trip starting tomorrow in poland. and during that time, he plans to reinforce the unity and support behind ukraine. now, he will be meeting with the polish president during his visit there, as well as a group of nato

hello. thanks for joining me. i m paula reed in for fredricka whitfield. we begin this hour with yet another hate crime targeting the jewish community as our nation faces an alarming rise in anti-semitic attacks. today a california man is facing up to life in prison after he allegedly targeted and shot two jewish men in separate incidents earlier this week. according to prosecutors, the first shooting wednesday morning as the victim walked to his car after leaving religious services at a synagogue in los angeles. the second incident happened the next morning just three blocks away. video shows the victim just moments after he was shot in the arm. police say both men were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. let s bring in cnn s camila bernal live in los angeles. what are authorities saying about the shootings? reporter: they re saying that they were targeted, specifically jewish men who were shot here in both cases. you mentioned two different shootings, but very,
additional documents or believed there were additional documents being held at mar-a- lago that the fbi wanted to obtain. that s what precipitated and what prompted the activity we saw monday at mar-a-lago, that this informant or this person, this witness was able to tell the fbi there were additional things there they needed to go get, and that s why they did this on monday. are they reported they know who this informant might be if there is one? they don t say who this person may be and how that person would ve come to know that information. the feature of mar-a-lago and trump world come as you know, as there weren t a lot of checks on people coming and going in that circle, so there s many, many people. we have been making calls, and there s a number of people that come to mind when you talk to people about who this could be. the idea, kim, of who could have had access, seen something in some way or been witness to something is really curious. as evan points out, thi
on this call. why did this interaction have the committee so concerned? don, witness tampering is serious. it s a crime, and as ms. cheney stated during the hearing, we passed along this information to the department of justice to look into it further. we take very seriously. the safety of any witnesses, anyone who comes forward to the committee, and like wise their privacy. in this case any speculation who this person might have been and a lot of people trying to tie it together the committee may just say we want to protect this witness. but we also want to hold people accountable who have potentially broken the law. chairman thompson is telling cnn the doj has been asking for testimony from the committee related to trump s fake elector scheme. is there enough evidence on this one issue to lead to a criminal indictment of trump? well, the committee s not the one who s going to determine the criminal indictment. that would be the department of justice. so, you know, as
