LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 10, 2021) This past year, the University Senate and its executive body, the Senate Council, worked hard to balance the needs of instructors and students, who have been caught up in a whirlwind of unanticipated, life-changing shifts.
Aaron Cramer, chair of the University Senate Council and faculty member in the College of Engineering, explains that “because the Senate is comprised of about 100 elected faculty senators, plus 18 students and various administrators, the University Senate is always poised to provide input and present solutions, even more so during these challenging times.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Local health experts led a community town hall on Saturday to answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine as the state continues its push to vaccinate more Kentuckians.
The University of Kentucky partnered with local faith leaders and SHARE Lexington for the event, which was held virtually but broadcast at several community centers across the city.
Those who attended in person also had the opportunity to register for a COVID-19 vaccine.
âWe want to encourage people to continue to have these crucial conversations about the vaccine,â said Chief Diversity Officer for UK HealthCare Tukea Talbert.
