The son of a California man who choked to death during an amateur taco eating contest alleges that his father didn t know the risks and danger involved in an eating competition.
Dana Hutchings, the 41-year-old who died, competed to devour as many tacos as possible during a certain amount of time during a Fresno Grizzlies game on August 13, 2019.
The suit names Fresno Sports and Events - the owner of the Grizzlies.
The 18-year-old son, Marshall Hutchings, is seeking undisclosed monetary damages for the loss of his father.
Grizzlies President Derek Frank said in an email, We won t be making any public comments. ....

A California man has filed a lawsuit against the organizers of a minor league baseball game after his father choked to death during a taco eating contest at the event, The Associated Press reported Monday.
Eighteen-year-old Marshall Hutchings filed the negligence suit on Monday, almost two years after his father, Dana Hutchings, died on Aug. 13, 2019, at the Fresno Grizzlies game.
Marshall Hutchings alleged his father was not given warning about the potential dangers of participating in the contest, which involved eating as many tacos as possible during a set time.

The contest was the first of its kind that Dana Hutchings had ever participated in, the Fresno Bee reported. He was 41 at the time of his death. ....
