Shivakumar, also the water resources minister, said there was no question of Karnataka releasing the water as TN had not asked for it. Whatever water that was flowing from the KRS was to replenish the Shiva reservoir to help the water utility BWSSB to pump water to Bengaluru. Water had been released from KRS at BWSSBs request, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, D K Shivakumar, has claimed that several leaders from the BJP and JD(S) have expressed their displeasure with the alliance between the two parties for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and have approached him to join the Congress party. Shivakumar stated that he will discuss the matter with the Chief Minister and party leaders before making a decision.
