CAMDEN - A Philadelphia elected officials has been named as the first woman to lead the board at the Delaware River Port Authority.
Cherelle L. Parker, the Democratic Majority Leader of Philadelphia s City Council, was elected Wednesday to head the 16-member board, the DRPA said.

She will oversee a bi-state authority that operates four Delaware River bridges and the PATCO Hi-Speed Line.
