While the ntsb works to determine this crash it brings back memories of the crash that happened here in that Port Richmond just two years ago. Amtrak train 188 derailed in may 2015. Eight people were killed and more than 200 others were injured in that incident. The train was traveling 106 miles an hour in a 50 Miles Per Hour speed zone. Investigators determined that the engineer was distracted by an incident with a nearby train. In september, a judge dismissed charges against that engineer. Two vehicles and one lost control and went up on the front lawns and smashed into the 83yearold victim. I am told he was in stable condition and his injuries are still considered very serious. As for the driver of that one vehicle, police have not found him. They found the owner of that vehicle and he claims he lent the car to a friend and a lot of police work still needed. We spoke to an eyewitness a short time ago and described what he saw out his front door. I saw the guy jump out of his car and then jumped out and ran down ogontz.
