Local faith leaders are demanding the Alameda County District Attorney launch a formal investigation into this case. That request was made just moments ago as local clergy supporting the family held News Conference outside of Childrens Hospital. They also want hospital officials to treat the family with, as they put it, more care and respect. On friday the family was granted a temporary restraining order by a judge to keep her on a ventilator until an independent underrologyist can examine her to determine if her brain is showing signs of activity. The hospital declared her dead after complications arose following a routine tonsillectomy. We say to this hospital, we say to this community, when you have done wrong as doctors, you need to pause and need not exert your rights. This is not about money. This is about human beings.
