10,000 flee 'Auring' in Caraga – Manila Bulletin

BUTUAN CITY – Tropical storm “Auring”  (international name “Dujuan”) has affected or displaced close to 8,000 families or 10,000 individuals in various parts of Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region where the weather disturbance is expected to make landfall Sunday.
Surigao del Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) chief  Abel L. de Guzman said 4,068 families or 7,518 individuals from 77 barangays are now temporarily sheltered in different evacuation centers in the province for safety.
Per directive of Gov. Alexander T. Pimentel, all of these families are being closely monitored for their needs, the PDRRMO official said.
The PDRRMO is checking the reported partially damaged 13 houses in some parts of the province per flash report from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). ....
