Access to a single book. now, they re targeting multiple titl titles. of the books challenged, 40% were in cases involving 100 or more books. the vast majority are written by or about the lgbtq community and people of color. surprise, surprise. those books include gender queer, a graphic novel about coming out as nonbinary, and the bluest eye , on the lived experience of black women and girls. with me now, debra stone. thank you so much for joining me and talking about this issue. i m a college professor at morgan state university. yes. i often talk to my students about what their access was to books in high school prior to coming to a university library. just for a purely educational standpoint, how dangerous is it that we re seeing these sort of organized attacks on books and libraries in and out of schools throughout the country? it s very dangerous. ....
