Robin: How did you get from New York to Davis? I went to college in Ohio and graduated from Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio. I met my husband, Steven MacNear, there. He was from Stockton, so we moved back to California. We chose to live in Davis. Even though I majored in art, I chose women’s healthcare as my profession. I got a job at the Sacramento State Student Health Center and was there for eight years. I left when I was pregnant with my son, Aaron. ....
Revamped CommuniCare opening Monday Support Local Journalism On Monday, Feb. 1, CommuniCare Health Centers will reopen an expanded Davis Community Clinic following a 10-month closure. CommuniCare Health Centers has been serving the people of Yolo County and the city of Davis for nearly 50 years, starting as the Davis Free Clinic in 1972. The Davis site moved several times over those years until it ultimately landed on the Sutter Davis Hospital campus. The renovation will allow CommuniCare to expand access and was being partially supported by grant funding from the Federal Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resources & Services Administration, as well as additional support from the Friends of CommuniCare, and other community partners. ....
