Clemson, S.C. - To support Clemson student-athletes with opportunities to market their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), Clemson community leaders have announced the founding of 110 Society, the new one-stop shop for all things Clemson NIL,. 110 Society will create opportunities for fans, donors and businesses to participate in and benefit from NIL deals with student-athletes. C.D. Davies will lead 110 Society as its General Manager after spending the past two years working as the NIL coordinator for Clemson Football. Previously, Davies was a longtime executive in the banking industry, serving as CEO for CitiMortgage, LendingTree and Wachovia Mortgage. Since the NCAA changed its rules in July 2021, NIL has rapidly become a critical factor in the student-athlete experience and played an increasingly influential role in the competitive landscape of college athletics. CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson University Board of Trustees Finance and Facilities Committee reviewed a $50 million plan for a new state-of-the-art performance and wellness center for Clemson’s student-athletes, as well as upgrades to the existing volleyball facilities and renovation to the Jervey Athletic Center. The renovations would also provide an upgrade for the track and field and cross country program for their day-to-day operations. The plans are subject to full Board of Trustees approval on Feb. 3. Construction would commence upon Phase II Board and State approval, with the goal of a start in late fall 2023 and ready for use by student-athletes for the 2024-25 athletic seasons. The new 50,000 square foot facility, located south of Jervey Gym, would be the new day-to-day home for Clemson’s sports medicine, strength and conditioning, nutrition and applied science departments. The existing Jervey Athletic Center was built in 1973, and last underwent major renovation in 1995. ....
