is sharing his story and remembering a friend who didn t make it out alive. nbc bay area s jean spoke with him just an hour ago. what happened there? this san bruno man is feeling lucky to be home with his family tonight. his friend didn t survive their weekend fishing trip to the islands. right after we stopped the boat, the boat started taking on water. and within, i d say, two minutes, the boat sank. bert lerue say he and two friends launched a personal locator beacon on saturday telling the coast guard they were in trouble. and i heard the coast guard say there s bodies in the water and then the first mate handed mae life jacket. the crew, on board the kitty cat was at the fair lawns for san francisco whale tours. they launched into rescue mode. we aggressively powered through. the swell was large, up to 18 feet. and the visibility was reduced. the fog was too thick for a coast guard helicopter rescue. the crew quickly spotted larue and dave boll yok ....
images of the white ford pickup truck as it left the parking lot around 7:00 this morning. so far, police have found no video cameras that captured the collision itself. the pedestrian ended up in the street near the curb at florence court where he was eventually declared dead. police are not sure what he was doing during the time of the collision, whether on the sidewalk, trying to cross the street even though there are no crosswalks or doing something else. police have interviewed at least one person who saw the accident and we spoke with another person who heard it. i kind of heard a hit but it wasn t like car hit, so i didn t really i wasn t interested in checking. and then the car sped off, that s all high heard. when you heard it sped off, how did you know it was speeding off. you could tell, it was burning rubber. according to police, the suspected driver jumped a sidewalk, cut through a gravel parking lot and sped off westbound on florence. the surveil ....
