BELLEFONTE As residents of Centre County continue to get the COVID-19 vaccine, Centre County government is doing its part to help.
At Tuesday’s Centre County commissioners’ meeting, residents were reminded that rides to COVID-19 vaccination appointments are available, free of charge.
“Similarly to how you would call and ask for a ride to a medical appointment … it’s the same process,” said Centre County administrator Margaret Gray.
The county will be providing door-to-door service. The Centre County Office of Transportation has a total of 15 handicap-accessible vans for use.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to help out those who may not have a funding source for transportation,” said director David Lomison. “Centre County Government and the Board of Commissioners have agreed to provide trips for vaccinations at no cost.”
