Marise Payne was curiously reticent to confirm
Nick Greiner’s appointment as Australia’s Consul-General to New York. But any mystery surrounding the former NSW premier and federal president of the Liberal Party’s appointment blew out the window when Greiner touched down in New York earlier this month and was promptly installed at the Consul-General’s residence.
“Have been here 10 days and at Beekman [Place],” Greiner happily told CBD on Thursday morning. Beekman Place is, of course, the address of the Consul-General’s rather enviable home on Manhattan’s East Side with views of the East River and more than a dozen ambassadorial and government neighbours. Heck, even Australia’s newly appointed ambassador to New York ....
