San Diego police ID homicide victim shot and dragged by car in Mount Hope


SAN DIEGO 
Homicide detectives on Thursday identified a victim who was found pinned under a car Sunday night in Mount Hope after being shot and dragged by the car.
It happened around 8:15 p.m. Sunday on F Street between Morrison and 41st streets, Brown said. Several 911 callers reported hearing several gunshots and seeing a man who was struck by a vehicle.
Officers found Aviles pinned underneath a dark-colored Honda, which was abandoned, and found shell casings nearby, Brown said. He died before medics could take him to a hospital.

Witnesses told police the man had gotten into some sort of verbal altercation with several people in the Honda. During the altercation, someone in the car fired several shots. Brown did not if the driver or a passenger opened fire. ....
