Three-judge panel has an emergency hold on the ruling that overturned california s gay marriage ban. what that means is same-sex couples that hoped to get married as soon as tomorrow will have to wait until at least december and possibly into next year as the appeals process works its way through the courts. that s a huge disappointment for a lot of california couples, including this one who have been waiting 20 years to get married. it feels like forever and, you know, we could not be here one of us or both of us could not be here and that, that really hit me. that i don t know how long this is going to take. is it going to be in my lifetime? i hope and pray so. dave suda civil rights activist and political strategist and he s live here in studio. thanks very much for coming in. good morning. you ve been working with lgbt civil rights cases for years now. what is your reaction to this latest delay? of course, anybody in this country who is an lbgt citizen ....
a devastating attack hit the middle of baghdad, the deadliest in months. killing 61 and wounding another 125 at a military recruiting center. and officials say it could have been even worse because two sticks of undetonated explosives were found at the scene. nbc chief foreign correspondent richard engel is on the phone from camp liberty, iraq. richard, what do you know about what happened there? the iraqi officials are blaming al qaeda in iraq for this kind of attack and for an uptick in attacks that we ve seen in the last couple of days. nothing along this scale. 60 killed, more than 100 wounded and they were recruits looking for jobs. some people had been lined up at this center starting late last night even. people are very anxious to get work in this country. unemployment is very high. timing is very significant. as american combat troops are pulling out. the actual withdrawal has nothing to do with the attack itself. american troops weren t prupoling in the area ....
