PETALING JAYA: Bersatu has failed in its bid for judicial review to challenge Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul's refusal to vacate the seats of four Sabah MPs who left the party.
KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali says it is now the time to focus on work after the Kuala Lumpur High Court ruling allowing four Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) MPs to keep their seats.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) action in seizing two bank accounts belonging to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is aimed at changing the validity of the party's judicial review application which is scheduled to be decided by the High Court on May 17, a party leader claimed in an affidavit sighted by The Edge. The seizure by MACC on April 11 could be described as being in contempt of court in light of the upcoming court decision, said Bersatu executive secretary Datuk Capt (Rtd) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya in the affidavit filed on Friday (May 5).
KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) has objected to Bersatu's application for leave to initiate a judicial review against the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) action that froze its bank account, citing the danger of interference of jurisdiction between the civil courts and the criminal courts.
