The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) action in seizing two bank accounts belonging to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is aimed at changing the validity of the party's judicial review application which is scheduled to be decided by the High Court on May 17, a party leader claimed in an affidavit sighted by The Edge. The seizure by MACC on April 11 could be described as being in contempt of court in light of the upcoming court decision, said Bersatu executive secretary Datuk Capt (Rtd) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya in the affidavit filed on Friday (May 5).
KUALA LUMPUR (April 6) : The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) has objected to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) application for leave (permission) to commence judicial review on the freeze order imposed on its party accounts in relation to purported money-laundering. Senior federal counsel Shamsul Bolhassan told the High Court here on Thursday (April 6) that the frozen accounts in question are the subject matter of party president and former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s criminal charges.
