Spoke with the family of the victim who are calling this a senseless tragedy. Reporter this family grieves over the loss of a family member. They have no idea why. You left a son without a father now. Not fair. Reporter San Jose Police say they got a report of a man shot and killed near dinali and lanai at about 5 30 thursday morning. He is 27yearold eric mendoza, identified by the family. Calm person, hard worker. Reporter hertado was his uncle. He says mendoza was just getting off the graveyard shift and was probably moving his car when he was shot. It was his wife who found him. She drove around the neighborhood when he did not come home on time.
