The book contains over 200 vintage photographs with descriptive text and selected by the author to show our historically rich town as it once was. Ms. Harriman dedicated her professional life to education and was keenly aware what a valuable teaching tool this book could become. After retirement, she shifted much of her time to volunteering at the Stoneham Historical Society & Museum serving on the Board of Directors in many capacities. She was affectionately known to many as the Unofficial Town Historian and never missed the opportunity to inspire visitors to the museum with her stories of days gone by. Her professional training and innate skills resulted in a timeless publication. ....

Alpena originally decided to limit the business of cannabis to two medicinal dispensaries (it’s working to allow more), which yields zero extra revenue for the city, and zoned them away from downtown.
