Harry, i want to ask, you the wall street journal reporting that house republicans sent another letter to the manhattan da today. the da is already calling their demands for information about the term case a legal dead and. where do you see this place going? that is a tough one. yeah, they are not backing down. i didn t expect they would. so they do a follow-up where they say it does matter because he is a former president. et cetera. i think it is farfetched. and, you, know it is kind of new and novel as well. so will jordan actually try to enforce something in the courts? my best guess is that he tiptoes away because he is likely to lose, and he wants to just rattle sabers. but this second letter is a little bit more measured,, a little less crazy, and a little more lawyerly. and this is all new stuff. and take a step back. whatever we think of the merits of the case, there is something a little bit, what, you know,
Where the doj either has to charge him, or give him immunity. but either way the idea is at the end of the day that he testified, he is the most important person for the whole january 6th crime. most important person, he also, i, mean he is the most recognizable to a lot of folks if you want to pull back up that graphic of the eight people who now are going to have to testify. i want to layer into that the fact that you have former vice president mike pence also in a legal battle over his subpoena to testify. and you have a quote from nbc news that reads, quote, lawyers for trump argue pence can t testify about their dealings surrounding the riot at the capitol because of, dot dot dot, executive privilege. pence argued he is legal protection from lawmakers. because he was acting as president of the senate during the january 6th rather than as a member of the executive, branch i want to come back to harry on this debate clause here.
