hind it. the charging documents say that jason hamilton entered the building with a rifle and a bag. when he got to the classroom, he opened fire. his first shot missed as did his second. he reportedly purchased that rifle legally at a dick s storting goods store. it was fortunate for his apparent intended victim that he missed twice. there were two shots fired, but the weapon jammed after the second shot and that s why no more shots were fired. it s a very high-powered rifle that can certainly be deadly. reporter: when police entered the building, hamilton was seated in a chair in a hallway away from the rifle. when we peered around the corner, we saw him so he challenged him. he had him come towards us and that s when he confirmed that he s the one that fired the shot. reporter: the incident sent some students fleeing irterr ii, others hu s huddling and hiding we always think that our institutions are safe. this was a horrible case. i m so glad that no one ....
