coming up later on abc 7 news, but there was a hot topic on the campaign trail and that was medicare. paul ryan said that he and mitt romney are eager to take on president obama when it comes to medicare. medicare was there for our family, my grandmother, when we needed it, and medicare is there for my mom when she needs it now, and we need to keep that guarantee. by his side, his 78-year-old mother. she is a medicare recipient and she is your mom. in a sit down interview yesterday, ryan says he is hitting the campaign trail with his mom to talk about who does more to protect seniors. president obama took $716 billion from the medicare program. he is in charge of this board that will cut medicare. but critics charge the republicans plan would shift costs to the next generation, limiting future medicare recipients to a fixed amount, making individuals pay extra cost. they want seniors to get a voucher to buy their own insurance, which would force seniors to p ....
